4 months old!

Precious Parker, you are 4 months old today! You are growing right before our eyes!
Oh how much more in love mommy and daddy are with you! Your gummy smile makes us melt and your laugh is contagious. Your little personality is really starting to show and you have learned to do so much more...
This month you are obsessed with your hands and have them in your mouth constantly! You still amaze me with how you can completely soak the front of your outfits (and mine) with your drool. You have also started grasping things in your hands and holding on to them. You are fascinated with your pacifier, you pull it out of your mouth and study it so intently. We just need for you to learn how to put it back in your mouth! :)
You love your stuffed zebra and really hold on to him, I have a feeling this might be your animal that you will not be able to part with!
I think we've turned a corner, you no longer scream in your car seat when we go places, mommy has enjoyed listening to music in the car again. You were really good at drowning it out for a while! :)
You can almost roll over, but not quite. You get to your side and then roll back on your back. You have also found your voice, you love to coo and "talk" to us, I love hearing what you have to say. You still get up once in the middle of the night for a feeding, but you are still such a good sleeper...we really appreciate this! :)
You are still the MOST chill and laid back baby. Mommy loves how you just go with the flow! Parker, we love you more and more every single day! What joy you have brought to us!!

Love,
Mommy

Big D Weekend!

James, Parker and I got to fly to Dallas last weekend to visit my family, eat at fun restaurants, shop and just hang out together! Our time there always goes by way too fast, but it sure was fun! We are already counting down until Neesie and Grandad come visit Amarillo in October!! Here are some pics from our weekend...

Parker being reunited with his cousin Leah.
We all met Saturday morning at the Southlake Town Square for a great time of shopping and eating! I was SO thankful for some "real" shopping, Amarillo is a little deprived when it comes to that!

It was fun hanging out with Ryan, Carrie and Leah

Parker's first haircut!

Yes, you read it right! My little bug got his very first haircut today and he is just 3 1/2 months old. I feel like we should be in the Guinness Book of World Records or something because most babies are bald or have peach fuzz at this stage, not getting their first haircut! His hair is adorable but it was getting a little unruly. I love it though and he would not be Parker without all that hair! :)
So the barber we took him to is named Elias, but he goes by Junior. He gave James his first haircut when he was little so it was extra special for James to see Junior cut Parker's hair...I think it just made Junior feel really old! Sweet little man did awesome and he is just as handsome as ever!

What in the world is going on??

Don't go far mom!

Such a good sport. He held on tight to his zebra!

Not happy!

Cutting the back side...much better in daddy's lap!

SO handsome!

He even got a "My First Haircut" certificate for the baby book!

My favorite part was the jar of Dum Dums on the way out...since my chid can't have one yet, I enjoyed one for him!

Parker's dedication

Today James and I had the honor and privilege to dedicate Parker to the Lord at church! "Every good and perfect gift is from above" James 1:17. We are honored that God chose us to be his parents and to train him up in the way he should go. Here are some pictures from the service...

Labor Day Weekend and a new toy

It's hard for me to believe that summer is over. I always enjoy Labor day weekend but part of me is sad to see my favorite time of year leave. I love summer so much! However, now that we live in Amarillo and actually get a true Fall season, I get excited about the cooler (not cold) weather, pumpkin spice lattes and pretty leaves that change color! We had a fun weekend out at the ranch bringing summer to a close.
When we got home on Monday, I decided that Parker is old enough to enjoy his little jumperoo toy. I was right, he loves it! His tiny feet barely touch the ground, but he can get his big toe on the ground long enough to push off a jump! He is too fun to watch!

Me and my little man

I've been waiting forever for Parker to get to wear his Oshkosh overalls!! He fit into them for the first time this weekend and it was cool enough for him to wear them, so cute!

James's cousin Katie and her family met us at the creek to cook out hotdogs and shoot off fireworks. Yes, we got rained out on the 4th so we shot them off this weekend!

Afternoon fun

Every afternoon Parker loves to play under his little jungle gym mat. He goes nuts when I put him under it...I had to see for myself what was so cool about this thing. So like a good mommy, I got down on the floor and laid underneath and looked up. Wow, all the things that hang down, lights and music, no wonder he kicks his legs in delight when he's under there! Too cute! We've also been practicing "tummy time". He no longer cries when I put him on his tummy, he will last for about 5 minutes now! My little guy is getting so big!
