October

WARNING:  very long post because this mama finally had time to sit down and blog!!  I understand if I lose you half way through this post.  Those of you who love long posts...read on!!

I'm not gonna lie...I have mourned the loss of summer for quite sometime now, but I am truly excited that Fall is here!  Love it.  I love pumpkins, cinnamon, my crock pot and any recipe that has pumpkin in it!  Oh yeah, and I think I'm ok with cooler temperatures too...as long as it doesn't turn COLD on me! :)

We've been busy so far this Fall!  We made a trip up to The Broadmoor several weeks ago and had a blast.  The weather was not ideal for the golfers in our family, but this girl loved all the rain!!  Parker has been busy learning so much in pre-K, I love seeing him blossom.  Little Sis and I enjoy our mornings while P is in school...we workout, shop, get pedicures, run errands and just hang out.  It's sweet time together!
My mom has been here twice to stay with us over two weekends.   About a month and a half ago, I was home alone with the kids one night while James was away and a man tried to break into our house, at 10:00 at night and I saw him.  I had to dial 911, a friend with a gun and the man was caught in our front yard and arrested.  I haven't been the same since.  Needless to say...I refuse to stay by myself at night.  So...mom to the rescue!!  :)  My prayer is that my fear subsides and I will one day be ok at night when I have to be alone.

In baby news...Sydney Kate turned 5 months since I last blogged.  This girl is such a happy baby!  She has learned to roll over one way, is starting the teething process and laughs and smiles all the time.  She is very laid back and is such an observer.  She watches every move Parker makes. We just love her to pieces!
OK  That is it for now!  I have just accepted the fact that in this season of my life, I am fine with blogging once a month.  It is all I can muster these days, I'm sorry for those who miss my more consistent posts...I'm pretty sure that might just be one of you. ;)  Anyway, these precious kids are this young just once and I don't want to miss a thing so therefore my blog suffers!

I hope everyone is having a great Fall!

Family pic at the Broadmoor...this would be perfect if our last name was Gibson.

4 months

Since Sydney is about to be 5 months old, I figured I better do her 4 month post.  These months just fly by!
Sweet Sydney Kate, what a joy you are!  I have so enjoyed watching you this month.  Your personality is really starting to develop and your smile, so contagious!  You are so intent on watching every single move Parker makes, it's really cute.  He is quite the entertainer for you!  This month you have found your hands and your feet and you love to take your paci out of your mouth and study it...just like your brother did!  You are still waking up twice a night to eat...we are so ready for this to change, I am tired!  ;)  4 months into having you, I still look at you and I'm amazed that you are ours and that we have a baby GIRL!  It will never get old!  You are such a happy baby though and we love you more than you know!

At 4 months Sydney...

*  Is almost rolling over but not quite
*  Can grab onto things and hold them
*  Takes a morning and afternoon nap
*  Loves sitting in her bouncer and the johnny jump up
*  Smiles at just about anything
*  Loves Baby Einstein music
*  Loves playing patty cake

This and that

Well hello!  I can't believe a month has gone by since I posted last.  I have been busy.  Busy soaking up these last days of summer and busy with two little ones who demand my attention all.the.time.  Wouldn't have it any other way!  ;)
Because I use this blog as a scrapbook more or less, here are some pics of what we've been up to this past month...

At the beginning of August, we made one last trip down to Dallas to play.

Parker had his 4 year old check up and shots with Dr. Fletcher.

This little nugget learned to sit in the Bumbo seat all by herself!

We've been enjoying lots of picnic lunches outside!

On Sunday, August 11th, in front of our church family, we dedicated her to the Lord.

This little fish has gotten so good at swimming.  He's had lots of practice!

Little sister loves to watch him!

Two little buddies feeding the ducks.

Parker really enjoys "reading" his Bible to Sydney in the mornings.

On my birthday, we had a big group of friends out to the ranch for a big play day!

Parker and James have been working hard on the plans for our new house we are building.

My happy little love bug!

Parker and his cousins having fun at the pool!

We started Sydney on rice cereal and big brother was right there to help with the first bite!

Have I ever told you how much I LOVE having a girl??

She has been the perfect addition to our little family and we are beyond blessed!

Roomie Ranch Reunion

Over 13 years ago, I was a sophomore at Baylor University looking for three new roomates to share my apartment with for my upcoming junior and senior years.  I had been praying for girls who loved the Lord first and foremost and who were fun and easy to be around.  Well...the Lord went above and beyond my request and blessed me with Ashley (Little Bits), Katie (Katie's Keepers) and Rebekah!  I love to look back and see how God's hand guided these girls into my life.  We had some major fun together in our little 8B apartment and managed to get an education as well!!  ;)  We were good little students!

This past weekend we had the girls and their families out to the ranch for a weekend of fun and fellowship!  I can't describe to you how full my heart feels after a weekend together.  The four of us would sit and watch our kids and husbands play together and just smile and remember back to our days at Baylor when we just dreamed of having kids and husbands of our own!  God is so good!!
Even though the miles between us are big, I can't imagine doing life without these girls!

Together at last!
