OK fellow bloggers, I've run into a problem and I have no idea how to fix it! I was trying to post about Thanksgiving and as I went to upload the pictures from my computer onto Blogger, I kept getting this message from Google saying my Picasa storage is full! What? I don't use Picasa but evidently when I upload pics onto blogger it automatically uploads to Picasa as well and now I'm at my free storage limit? It's telling me to buy more storage space!? I have no idea what's going on, anyone else have to buy more storage space for their pics on blogger? I store all of our pictures on our computer and then just upload the ones I want to show up on the blog. Is there a way to delete old Picasa albums to free up space?
Anyway, if there is anyone out there that can help, I'd greatly appreciate it!!

Hi Lauren! So from what I understand is that while blogspot is free, there is only so much storage available as the photos have to be hosted somewhere to be available for the blog. I load my photos into photobucket and then copy and paste the html code into my blog so that photobucket, not blogger {which is a google run site, as is picasa} hosts the photos so it doesn't take up space on my blog. I know its confusing but look into using another site to host your photos and then add them to your blog. Let me know if I can help with any specifics on the how to or anything else! ~Kaki
ReplyDeleteMy cousin and I had the same thing happen. I needed up buying more storage space. I dont remember how much it cost but it was pretty cheap to get a lot more storage. Hope this helps, I guess nothing in life is free even if we think it is lol! Hope you had a blessed thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteMine became full back in 2010...I bought more space and then pay a little fee each year to buy more. It's totally worth it! I'm surprised yours is just now running out! Buy the extra space!

DeleteI tried clicking on your name and it would not connect me to your blog, so I hope you see this comment! Once you have uploaded your pics to photobucket, click the button that says "share with friends". Once there, click on "link" and there are a series of boxes with different hypertext and links in them. Click on the one that says "direct link" and copy the address. Then, go to your blog and click on the picture icon just like you're getting ready to add a picture. Instead of choosing a file from your computer, on the left hand side, there is an option that says "from a URL". Click that and paste the address you copied from photobucket and then click add photo. It should pop right up into your blog. It is a bit more tedious than just getting them from your computer, but once you figure it out, it goes faster! Let me know if you have any questions or need help!
Hi Lauren! I ran into the same issue a couple of weeks ago. I'm now doing photobucket too. I attempted to change our profile picture using a url from photobucket, and it still shows up as the blank person. Do you happen to have any ideas how to fix it? Thank you for your help!
